Pederson/Taylor's Playcalling

This tool for the texans who picked it off in the second half said what we already know in more polite words… We are RPO on 1st and second down. Then naturally on third we more often than not are put in position where Trevor has to hold the ball longer…. Go figure we have to throw the ball on third and longer. Drastically altering the way teams scheme our offense . Bottom line is whoever is calling the plays it is painfully obvious that it isn’t the same as last year. We are developing obvious tendencies which allow defenses to know when to pressure us and puts our struggling o line in harder situations to hold up against more exotic pressure packages on later downs… Where is the creativity we saw last year ? Where is the ball distribution? Right now we are funneling the ball into Etienne’s hands up the middle or quick bubble screens on early downs which results in less explosive plays and longer drives and more obvious later down passing situations. We need to be more aggressive ! Mix in intermediate and deep passing game with the run in early downs to try to keep defenses on their heels with all of our skill players. |
