Why am I obsessed with why we suck so bad this year?  Is it personal to me?  Yeah, I guess you're right it is personal.  I hate having to watch a garbage product on Sundays...  It's absolutely annoying to me.  So yeah, I guess I take that personally.  In so much that I don't like wasting a Sunday watching garbage,  and from thinking about why we're so garbage, I've come to a specific conclusion based on the the facts.

Our starters on Offense have changed very little from last year.  And yet this offense looks completely different than what it looked like last year in terms of plays ran as well as execution.  The one main change is that at the start of the season, Pederson said that Press will be calling plays.  Last year the play calling and execution does not look anything like it does this year.  I've come to a conclusion, based on how little the personelle has changed, it's very likely that Press Taylor now running the offense is the reason for the offense being run so poorly.

I mean, I don't think that my conclusion is so radical.  To be honest, it seems the only logical conclusion.

Come on, don't be that guy that tries to be contrarian for the sake of it.  It's obvious that Pederson was 100% in control of the offense last year.  This year looks completely different.

Your conclusion is radical in that you are overlooking that guys making the plays and blaming the guy calling them. If the guys making the plays would quit doing stupid [BLEEP] everything would be fine. This isn't Madden, there isn't a wireless controller for a bystander to Truck Stick or Ball Hawk a guy. Either Ridley catches the perfectly thrown touchdown pass or ONLY Ridley is the reason it wasn't caught but you want to blame the coach. I'm not being contrarian, I'm simply seeing that the guy on the sideline isn't the reason 39 can't hold on to the ball or Agent Zero has it clang off his hands.

2 miscues does not a game make.  But what do I know.  I have a controller in my hand and I keep yelling at the Fox Broadcast to behave more like Madden.

We had drops last year too, ya know...  And yet we still looked like a real honest to god offense last year.  Even when we were losing, we looked different than we do now...  You act as though the guy that is calling the plays isn't affecting the outcome of said play he's calling.  If the guy calling the plays is making it very easy to anticipate what is coming, it makes it very difficult for the players do be successfull.

This tool for the texans who picked it off in the second half said what we already know in more polite words…

We are RPO on 1st and second down.

Then naturally on third we more often than not are put in position where Trevor has to hold the ball longer…. Go figure we have to throw the ball on third and longer. 

Drastically altering the way teams scheme our offense .

Bottom line is whoever is calling the plays it is painfully obvious that it isn’t the same as last year. 

We are developing obvious tendencies which allow defenses to know when to pressure us and puts our struggling o line in harder situations to hold up against more exotic pressure packages on later downs…


Where is the creativity we saw last year ? Where is the ball distribution? Right now we are funneling the ball into Etienne’s hands up the middle or quick bubble screens on early downs which results in less explosive plays and longer drives and more obvious later down passing situations. 


We need to be more aggressive ! Mix in intermediate and deep passing game with the run in early downs to try to keep defenses on their heels with all of our skill players.

Thank you.  This is obvious to anyone that wants to just face the facts.  The coaching/play calling is killing this offense.
