I haven't played Madden intensely since '93.

Best team was the Redskins.  Ernest Byner was the RB for them.  Dude was unstoppable.  On top of that, the WRs were Art Monk and Gary Clark, who never dropped a ball.

And any time there was a down and distance that I need?  Half Back Option!!!  QB would toss to the RB, the RB would pretend the throw the ball, so all the LBers and Secondary would go back to coverage, and then you'd run a basic sweep to the sideline and then just run it to the endzone because Byner was one of the highest rated players of the game.

It's a shame that more people don't know how great a RB Ernest Byner was.  He won a SB with Washington, but was first with Cleveland where he fumbled on the 1 yard line against Elway's Broncos in a memorable play called "The Fumble".

But man, Madden '93 totally overpowered Byner.  He was great in that game, along with Barry Sanders, I think those 2 were the highest rated RBs in Madden 93.  But Washington has a great D-Line, great O-Line, and great WRs along with Byner at RB.

I used to smoke kids that came over to play Madden in our basement back in the day.

When I went to college, we played Madden 99 and it was cool.  After college I played Madden 2007, the one with Vick on the cover.  And it was fun.  The sound track was legit.  But after that, I stopped playing Madden.  It just didn't intrigue me anymore.  Everyone hates on Madden nowadays, and honestly, I with kids and a small business I'm running now, I don't have time to get into that type of game at the moment.
