Lost in the Wash - Positive Developments

As far as the playcalling goes; I REALLLYYYYYYY didn't like coming out of the gate with 3 straight passes to go 3 and out. And then on the next drive starting with a run play; it was like everyone and their mother who doesn't watch football knew that first rush attempt/give to Etienne to start the 2nd drive was coming.

I absolutely LOATHE that on 3rd and short (any short yardage really) that Trevor is in shotgun and not under center; I understand with his knee why they wouldn't want to put him in harms way (this ignoring that the rollout at the end of the game vs the colts that got his knee hurt in the first place was incredibly boneheaded) but the shotgun in short yardage issue has been a theme since week 1 well before that bangup to Trevors knee. Like even if we won't sneak it, having him under center for the threat of a sneak/tush push makes the defense have to account for it. On the game winning 4th and short against the Chargers last year .... Trevor is UNDER CENTER!!! it's just mind boggling that he's in shotgun seemingly all the time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCPduxCZoTE

Lack of playaction. This goes hand in hand with the above point in that it's hard to have effective run fakes out of shotgun. But we have Etienne having a monster year and demanding defenses respect. We have struggles throwing the ball deep or pass protecting for longer than a second or two. Why not get a run fake/play action to make the opposing backers/safeties bite and then roll out and hit a deep shot?

I would literally take the 2007 Jags playbook and just run that with the current squad. I think there's a lot of similarities in terms of the overall talent of the unit and what the strengths of the team are and if they adopted a similar identity to the 2007 squad we'd see the offense finally click and get it in gear.
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
