Warming up to the idea of taking a tackle.

#33

Quote:In Tom Brady's first year, he was sacked 41 times.  A sack percentage of 9%, which is higher than the sack percentage for Henne this year.  In that same year, Tom Brady won the Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers was sacked 52 times in 2012 -- more than Chad Henne -- and he still managed an 11-5 record.

Moving down the chain...

Ryan Tannehill was sacked 58 times last year, and still managed an 8-8 record.  Joe Flacco 48 times, and the same.

On the other side: Brandon Weeden was sacked only 28 times his first year.  That didn't seem to help him any.

50 sacks per year are just the leading edge of our offensive line deficiencies. Count the TOTAL number of plays wasted by the lack of superior pass protection and get back to me. Throws out of bounds. One or two yard scrambles to avoid a sack. Batted down passes.
