Competitor approval ratings mean much less in today's political field. 

The lesser of evils garner votes effectively when the alternatives are considered so despicable. 

And that statement is meant to apply equitably across the aisle. 

Anti-trumpers will vote for whomever is opposing him and anti-bideners will vote for whomever has a chance to defeat him in their minds. 

Sure there will be some folks who just can't stomach the rape, fraud, treason etc from Trump enough to vote for him despite being conservative voters.
And sure there will be left leaning folk who can't vote for Biden based on some fiscal gripe or whatever. Maybe they even buy into one of the scandals Republicans can't seem to find any evidence for. 

But the real determinant is going to be which candidate gets the biggest non-voter turnout. In other words how many will get registered just to vote for the guy. 

That's how Biden defeated Trump last time.

Which we've likely only seen the tip of the iceberg about.
