Exactly, because QBs stay young forever.

he's 24, QBs have gotten big money in their 30s.. I'm saying I would opt to try and maybe add 1-2 years to his current deal at a more modest price to leave cap room to continue building the team rather than break the bank for a mega deal that destroys our cap right away when he currently has not played up to the level of any of the guys getting that kind of money.

If he comes out next year and goes crazy and they decide to restructure it to give him more money when he earns it, I also have no issue in that either.

Locking him up long term dosen't matter, we all know these QBs just get restructured deals every few years for more money. Trevor seems like a cool team player but at the end of the day I wouldn't expect him or any other player at the position to not get as much as they can.
