As much as i want to sign Allen to an extension id just tag him if he is asking for that.  We can still keep him for a couple more years with the tag if need be.

As much as i want to resign Allen im not making him the first or 2nd highest paid defensive player of All time. He hasnt been consistent enough at an All Pro level.  These guys that set these records have multiple All Pros and Defensive Player of the Year awards.  Just tag him and see if he can have another All Pro type year

That will be the market for an elite young pass rusher. Allen is 26 and just entering his prime years.

The NFL is all about what have you done lately when it comes to contract negotiations, and he has been dominate at every aspect of his position this season.

There are already a few that have gotten around 100 mil guaranteed. Contracts get bigger every year so there is little doubt he will be one of the highest paid edge rushers in the league.

Nick Bosa and Myles Garrett, thats it. He won't get that, he needs to have more elite seasons to get that money.  Oh he will be one of the highest, but i doubt we give him Nick Bosa or TJ Watt money.  They will tag him if he wants to be the highest paid defensive player in history.  He needs more All Pro type seasons to get that type contract, one season on a contract year isn't enough even though I'd like to extend him.  Just tag him if he wants AD, Watt, Bosa money
