1. Geno has never shown he was ever worth selecting second overall, which is exactly what the folks in those threads were suggesting.

 

2. The people that overrate players certainly do, even though they don't realize that's what they're doing because they're in love with the player.  They certainly thought Carr was good and the right choice when they selected him, didn't they?  Or were they blinded by their desperation to manufacture a QB in a class where there wasn't one?

 

Sounds a lot like the same questions teams are facing again this year if they need a QB.
