I'm hoping they finally move on from Andrew Wingard. We have other "ST's ace type players" such as Daniel Thomas and ST's gems are a dime a dozen; there's an out in his contract for 2 mil of dead cap as opposed to having a backup safety with an average cap hit of $3.5 mil the next 2 seasons.

"I don't need no complaining about oh do this, do that, we're SIX AND TWO ... JAGS!" like forget the whole terrible towel debacle he had around that time. The biggest gripe about the defense this year was about how we didn't adapt, didn't recognize the flaws and glaring issues we had across the board. This man is a CAPTAIN!!!!! And is basically saying that we don't need to change things because we're winning.... the way things collapsed down the stretch its obvious this mindset was pervasive in the locker room. This clip is exactly the opposite of the type of leadership I want for the Jags; we should ALWAYS be trying to improve, try new things, and clean up our general level of play.

unless they're making the minimum or are on a rookie deal, I'm not usually a fan of retaining bubble guys or backups who have survived multiple coaching staffs (he's seen Doug Marrone, Urban Meyer, and now Doug Pederson) this may be extreme, but I like sending the message that you need to be working hard at all times because we will turn over every stone to acquire the best players for the organization. Cutting a pricy backup that's been around longer than most of the team sends a message that you shouldn't get too comfortable or complacent.
