If he thinks that he's delusional. I'm currently unsure if Baalke is going to offer the contract Trevor wants. Trevor is 'learning' or however it was Baalke described the last season. That doesn't sound like someone they're going to break the bank for.

They are either going to pay him top 5 money this offseason or do it at a greater cost next season. 

For a league that NEVER has enough good QBs to go around - a guy that has shown he's got top 5 traits - even inconsistently - is going to command a giant payday.
 (think back to Derek Carr's first re-up - seemed ludicrous at the time - but it is normal now) 
Factor in him being 24 with upside, a throwaway rookie year with a dead man walking coach, the garbage OL situation 22/23 and the injuries of 2023, and it gets real easy to see how 12 teams would gladly make him a top five paid QB with zero hesitation. 

To me - the best thing for the TL team is to let the team fix the line and let him grow another season showing what he's worth and then sign a mega-deal. 

For the Jags - it is probably best to pay him now and save a bit. They won't save much, but a little bit.
