I think the answer to your question will be provided between this Sunday coming up at the combine and then his pro-day at Oregon if he decides to test there again. He's going to have to test off the charts and come out of there with a really good looking RAS in my opinion. He looks great on film from what I have seen. Great combination of attacking the defender instead of reacting to the defender, he has the ability to pop his first man, and quickly get out and get downfield to get after the next man on his assignment or in the way. We need to see that match the film with the testing. Does his bench match up with his power on film? Does his quickness match up with the footwork drills and shuttles, etc. If he scores, I would say, something like an 8.4 RAS or higher? He's probably a safe bet. One of the safer bets in this draft. I don't think he's as good as Tyler Linderbaum was coming out of Iowa but he's maybe just a slight shade of him and that's not a bad statement for him. When you're seeing him mocked in the first round though? He's at the minimum expected to be a well above average starter at the next level. I am also with you on the value there. It's just rare that you see a Center go that high and for me, I am at the point to where I would rather them sign a more proven veteran in March Vs. risking to wait until April to maybe get an upgrade. I think our first round pick is really going to end up on the defensive side of the football. I keep thinking it's CB, EDGE or DT there because it feels like that's how it will fall by the time we're on the clock. Which is fine. PROVIDED, they patch up our holes in March of course. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king." |
