The last two I can see as reasonable, however losing draft picks is ridiculous. Still doesn't make sense that Aldon Smith, who actually got in an accident, wasn't punished, but Irsay will be? I don't care what any of you say, that's not right IMO.

 

But that's the rub isn't it?  Suspending an owner has little or no impact on the team's ability to play/win a game while suspending a player has a huge impact on that ability.   How do you make the penalties even close to equivalent?    A draft pick is one way.   What other way do you see as a possibility?  Fining or suspending the owner has nowhere near the same impact as suspending a player.   


Again, the owner should be held to a higher standard and the punishment should have at LEAST as much impact as punishing a player would have on the team, not less.
