Now that we're in agreement we're talking about the same bill, let's look at what's in the bill:

For starters, it's not a border bill. It's a multi-faceted bill that spends a TON of money (118 billion dollars) on various issues, from Ukraine, to Israel, to the DOD, to the Indo-pacific partnership, to the border. Of that 118 billion, only 20 billion of that is spent on the border. Over half the money in this bill goes to Ukraine. So, I think it's safe to say this is not a BORDER bill. It's primarily a Ukraine defense bill that adds money for the border. 

Secondly, you can easily find republicans objecting to Ukraine spending prior to this ever coming to a vote. It was a point of concern from the beginning of the bill, despite being bipartisan, so making Trump the key author of its rejection is also patently false. Did Trump object to it? Yup. Did other Republicans have an issue with the Ukraine funding prior to anything Trump said, also yup. 

This bill is 370 pages of bloat. It's in no particular order. I've been sifting through it the last couple days, and I'm just honestly shocked that anything gets done in this country. Doing a search for the border references, I have basically ended up with the following: 

• Border Emergency Authority: It outlines the conditions under which the Secretary of Homeland Security may activate border emergency authority, particularly in response to large numbers of aliens encountered at the border. Activation criteria include encountering an average of 4,000 or more aliens per day over a 7-day period, or a single-day encounter of 8,500 or more aliens.
  Funding Allocation: Approximately $20 billion is allocated towards border security. This includes the construction and reinforcement of physical barriers, technology upgrades, personnel hiring, and operational enhancements aimed at securing the U.S. border.
  

• Border Security Measures: Detailed measures include the improvement of physical barriers, expansion of technology use at the border, and increased funding for personnel. Specific provisions aim to modernize the border security infrastructure and improve the efficiency of border control operations.
  

If I had to approximate, I'd say about 80 pages of this 370 page bill deals with the border. I thought about breaking down every section on the boarder instead of lumping it into broad categories, but I figured nobody would read it. This bill is seriously a convolute mess. It's just discouraging how intentionally muddy and vague these things have become.

Gimme a [BLEEP] break, man. The bill had the border funding that had been negotiated by the few Republicans willing to reach across the aisle during its infancy.  It got shot down by Republicans after Drumpf urged them to shoot it down so the Dems weren't perceived as making progress at the border. They had the votes committed until the MAGA contingent pressured other GOPers to alter their course. 
You KNOW that statement is 100% true. This was widely publicized. 

Of course there was a ton of other [BLEEP] in the bill. Like there always is - no matter who crafted it! 
 Of course funding Ukraine is the best available excuse since the public on the right has been duped into favoring communist Russia to sovereign states now.
