I'm not sure if you were able to catch the live Jaguars broadcast before Manziel came out earlier today. But the guys were talking, and they were saying how Manziel was the only "rockstar" in this draft. And they were saying that in a good way. That there was just something about him that commands a crowd. They said they had both been to Bottles and Bridgewater's pro-days, but that it was diferent. When Manziel walks out he literally demands the attention of everyone in the room, even of all these major NFL head coaches. Not though because Johnny's waving his arms and saying hey look at me, but just because he's got "it". And that's hard to explain, but I think that can sometimes be misconstrued as 'showy'.

I not only liked your post, I gave you 5-stars on your profile. Seriously well done sire. If I'm ever on any other message-boards, I might steal it, honestly.

I understand the rock star factor, I really do. And Manziel is going to be easy to cheer for and a bear to play against. I'm not doubting any of that.


What concerns me is this feeling I have that he will pass up the 'smart' play for the 'wow' play. For some positions, that's okay. I'm not so sure that it's okay for a quarterback though. There are too many people that know how to bait a reckless quarterback in the league.


It's not that he won't be effective, I worry that he won't play smart.
