To be a nickle you have to be able to move very well and arguably better than playing on the outside.  Teams usually put the quicker and more shifter players in the slot so I don't understand how you figure that.  I think DeJean will be a very good corner, we shall see.

Perhaps I don't spend enough time watching NFL outside of the Jags. Haven't been a big NFL guy till lately. Ever since Brent Venables was hired at Clemson as DC in 2011 Clemson always put big CBs or safety's without great hips at Nickle as an extra LB for more speed in pass defense but doesn't sacrifice run support either as they never put their true CBs/twitched up guys in the slot. I assumed the NFL worked the same way since it's so effective for Clemson. NFL is a different beast
