If you've been forced to watch any shows about home renovation then you'd see parents saying exactly those things.
Married 10 years come August.

I’ve watched shows like this plenty and still have never heard it. Most people just want bigger kitchens and their kids playroom is in the basement. Out of eye sight.

I do agree there are helicopter parents but I just disagree with the notion that this generation wants open floor plans to watch their kids more. Maybe some parents but those are very minimal.
