Yep. A trio at 36, 40, and 46 fixes 3 rooms on this team. They could get a CB, OL, and DT to strengthen pretty much all the critical weakness. Preferably I'd move down to 25 or so and nab an extra 3 for that before going to your suggestion, but yes, this roster needs 5 good players more than 1 really good one IMO.

There is no way anyone is turning the sole No. 17 pick into three 2nd round picks, much less more than that with multiple trade downs. .

It would take like one of the top 3 WR or top 4 QB's fall for some reason and for Baalke to blackmail other GM's to accomplish that.

Getting two early 2nd round picks for No. 17 is actually a steal on every draft value chart.
