I was under the impression that Hussein got his come uppin's because he told our Government he was going to start selling his oil for Euro's instead of USD. The same thing that Gaddafi told our Government when he said he wanted to create his own currency, the Dinar, for their resources there, etc. 

Anyway, I won't derail the main topic too much. I am 50/50 with DeSantis. There's some things I like about him and some things I don't like. The one thing I appreciated about him the most? Him sticking it to Biden during Covid and Lockdowns. I also appreciate his efforts in getting our Public School System somewhat back to normal.  

Wesley Clark did not say that.  The source of that quote is his memoir, in which he claims a general at the Pentagon said that.  

As for why we went after Iraq post-9/11, there is strong evidence that Bush Jr instigated that war because Saddam Hussein had plotted to assassinate Bush Sr.  The 9/11 attacks gave him a wonderful pretext for attacking Iraq.
