I usually buy half a salmon when they're on sale and cut them into portions and freeze them in Food saver bags. I just got $30 of filet mignon for $18 on "Manager's Special" and froze the portions. That was a super lucky find. A local grocery store similar to Publix will occasionally have 2lb bags of shrimp 'buy one get two free' or 'buy two get three free'. Depending on the sale I'll get 6lbs-12lbs of shrimp and divide it into 1lb per Foodsaver bags for the deep freezer. I love my Foodsaver and deep freezer. |
