I see that and understand but my latest shock is seeing all the people at Costco grabbing varieties of fish at $11.99 LB and up ....  I appreciate the health aspect of things but I still find myself in the Winn Dixie freezer bin grabbing the 4 LB packet of Tilapia that is on sale for $12.   --- hasn't killed me, yet.

For me that $11.99/lb of salmon will last me 3-4 meals if I eat about 4oz portions each time. I usually buy half a salmon when they're on sale and cut them into portions and freeze them in Food saver bags. I just got $30 of filet mignon for $18 on "Manager's Special" and froze the portions. That was a super lucky find. A local grocery store similar to Publix will occasionally have 2lb bags of shrimp 'buy one get two free' or 'buy two get three free'. Depending on the sale I'll get 6lbs-12lbs of shrimp and divide it into 1lb per Foodsaver bags for the deep freezer. 

I love my Foodsaver and deep freezer.
