I like Lawrence. With that said, there's at least five Quarterbacks I would take over him at the moment, especially for the 2024 season:

1. Patrick Mahomes
2. Joe Burrow
3. Josh Allen
4. Matthew Stafford
5. Jared Goff

This is right now. Long term, of course I am taking Lawrence over Stafford and Goff. However, if I wanted to do a little bit more right now? I honestly feel like Stafford and Goff offer a little bit more. I think Hurts and Jackson are gimmicky. System reliant with their legs. I question both of their arm talent and decision making. 

I think Stroud honestly has better arm talent than those two. As well as Love. Would take Stroud and Love over Hurts and Jackson. With these five I listed above though? I feel like you can win on any given gameday and you have a shot at making a run in the post season. As they all have proven they can get you there at least and have been consistent for the past few years. 

I think Lawrence should be lumped in with guys like Stroud and Love personally. As those three in my opinion have somewhat similar traits and QB makeup. That's the group I look forward to the most this year as just a football fan in general. Lawrence, Stroud and Love can separate themselves further in 2024 and elevate above some of these other guys that get too much attention.

I'm with you on a lot of things, but oof on Stafford or Goff over Lawrence for 2024.  This seems like trying to not sound like a homer for the sake of trying to not sound like a homer.  

Lawrence was balling last season on passing efficiency and would have had a much more well regarded season had his numbers after the ankle injury been on par with the numbers before the ankle injury.  Stafford is serviceable but is nearing the end.  I'll be interested to see if LA decides to guarantee money for him into next season like he's asking for.  He may get a bone thrown his way and he could still play next season with those weapons and good protection, but the end is nigh regardless.  Goff has proven to be above average, but I'm not taking him over Lawrence in 2024 or ever.

You have to erase year 1 and erase the games after the ankle injury to get true expectations for 2024 assuming IOL is significantly better than it was.  Also, the series of games (tacks, tinhorns, bungals) leading up to the ankle injury which followed the 49ers game where our OL got exposed badly, Lawrence was on fire aside from 1 gifted INT to the tinhorns by the officials.  He was Herbert with better running ability during the stretch starting from the beginning of year 2 up to the ankle injury and he was on another level those last 3 games including the injury game meaning he was ascending.  That's the true jumping off point for 2024.
