Not just subsidies, tariffs also.
Note that Biden has given EV manufacturers the subsidies and tariffs they want as well.

So Elon's preference is probably due to something else.  

I would guess he thinks there's going to be another round of tax cuts for corporations and investors, along with a reduction in IRS auditing, if Trump wins.

I think Elon is making friends with Trump so he will have a chance in the future to talk him into keeping the subsidies (for buying an electric vehicle) going.
