The economy is great if you locked in a low mortgage rate before 2021 and don't plan to move. It's excellent actually.
If you're in that situation, your wages have almost certainly kept up with your personal increase in living expenses.

For pretty much everyone else, the ballooning price of new mortgages and the absolutely crazy price of renting in many places really makes all the other good news about the economy bad.

Your other two questions, I think you're right. The Democratic party is making false statements because they are trying to polish a turd.

But the Republican party and its supporters have also used job statistics that they had nothing to do with to try to make themselves look good. Goes all the way back to the time over 100 years ago when these types of statistics first became available
