The thing about a ring of honor is that if you start opening it up to guys like MJD, it loses its prestige. Brunell arguably shouldn't have gone in, but let's be real. He was the face of the franchise when we were making deep playoff runs in the late '90s. He was the first real identity of this team. His induction was something like Jim Zorn's being inducted into the Seahawks ROH, imo. It's not that he was spectacular, it's that he was unquestionably the man during a key time in franchise history.

 

I hope Mojo goes on to have a few good years in Oakland, and I don't fault the guy one bit. Pro football's about the money, and if the team you play for now won't fork it over, find someone who will. I just don't think that his career in Jacksonville merits induction into the Pride. He was a very good running back for several years, most of which were on teams ranging from mediocre to awful.
