Why do you need to raise wages? If you keep increasing wages, nothing actually comes down and you just keep increasing inflation. Keep prices where they are, tax imports, and make companies make things in the USA.

When Chinese crap costs too much, then companies have a choice. Get it from the USA or price themselves out. Increasing wages will just lead to more people being fired, more automation, and higher costs for everything.

Lower minimum wage to $1, companies expand like wildfire in the USA, prices fall, etc. The rest of the world either does the same or no one buys from them.

Keeping prices where they are and taxing imports don't go together. So many of the things we buy are either imported or the raw materials or parts are imported that if you tax imports, prices will go up.
