No it is not new rule. You have no proof of past champions having Y chromosomes so that is just a guess, nothing more. It is not a change to any rule, in the past when uncovered it was stopped. Science is just getting better at catching them is all. I am not the one wanting a change you are.

Odds are Mike is correct.  Since there was not DNA testing in the past chances are some physically endowed women did indeed possess the Y chromosome.  But that is in the past.  We now have the ability to test for that and moving forward standards need to be put into place to prevent this chromosomal advantage.  I stand for the right of women to compete against each other on a level playing field. In my opinion the IOC dropped the ball horrifically by allowing both of these boxers to compete against XX women.  My heart also goes out to both of them as well as they did not ask for this genetic oddity, unlike a Leah Thompson a man that clearly chose to compete against less physically gifted athletes.
