He isn't playing up to his current contract and gets beat by speed rushers pretty handily, but the main reason folks anticipate moving on from him after this season is that his contract is up. 2024 is his final year and I expect he'll start at LT as long as he's healthy this season.  

I think this season could make it more of a certainty he's not offered a new deal if he gives up too many pressures or continues to have injury troubles. 

In general - I think Baalke and Pederson will continue adding talent to the line in the next draft, and I doubt Cam is in future plans beyond 2024 unless this offensive line radically alters course this year.
