It was nice getting to attend the first game, even though it doesn't count. Stopped getting season tickets after 25 years due to the heat factor. Now for the good, bad and ugly:

Good:

1. Walker is in for a big year with the changes in scheme. Won't be hearing much Aiden Hutchinson remorse if Walker stays healthy.

2. Loved the touchdown pass to Etienne. I expect him to catch more passes this season.

3. Bigsby looked good, however I'll reserve my enthusiasm for when the games really count. His improvement is critical since Etienne can't continue playing so many snaps.

4. Maason Smith didn't make any big plays, but the guy is huge and can really move. They did have to double him on at at least one play. No doubt he will need development, but once he begins to feel really comfortable opponents will have to account for him along with Walker and Allen. With Hamilton healthy, the pass rush can be very good with Smith on the inside. I criticized this pick on draft day as depth on the interior offensive line seemed more important, but I'll be very glad to admit my mistake if Smith comes through.

5. Morse seemed to do a good job in his first game as a Jaguar. He will make a huge difference on the offensive line.

6. Parker Washington may likely turn out as one of the best value draft picks the team has ever made. He fell to the 6th round due to lack of speed. I watched all his college games as a Penn State alumnus and the guy just makes plays. Not only should he be a very good return-man, but he is likely to earn more snaps as a receiver.


The Bad:

1. Offensive line depth still a big concern. I don't trust guys like Van Lanen, Fortner and Hance if they are forced to play due to injury to a starter. Still not sure about Hodges despite his hype prior to injury.

2. While the secondary appears deeper, I'm still not sure about the starters besides Campbell. Darby has good experience, but gets hurt often and Jones may not yet be ready to start at nickel. Braswell can be the wildcard as he had a very good camp.

3. Harrison and Cleveland being out already is not a good sign ( see point 1). They need to both stay healthy along with the other starters.


The Ugly:

I'll leave this blank for now.Overall, the team looked good for the first pre-season game and the absence of turnovers is a good sign.
