I don't know why it's so hard to see this. The QB is everything in the NFL now. If you don't have one, you're not going anywhere. Henne is a backup you put in when your starter goes down with an injury. Henne isn't a guy to take a team to the playoffs. He never has been, and he never will be.


The last time there was a QB on either team in the superbowl who wasn't near the top of the QB's was 2007 when Chicago had Rex Grossman.

2009: Ben Rothlisberger vs Kurt Warner

2010: Drew Brees vs Peyton Manning

2011: Aaron Rodgers vs Ben Rothlisberger

2012: Eli Manning vs Tom Brady

2013: Joe Flacco vs Kaepernick

2014: Russel Wilson vs Peyton Manning


You have to have a QB. Period. If you're happy with Henne, then you obviously don't understand this concept.

To go off on a tangent, the issue I have with this thinking is that finding that level of qb is easy. I think it would be easier to build a complete roster than find a qb capable of making scrubs superstars e.g Brady.


Honestly it's only about 4 qbs that are that good to take a bad team to the playoffs. Everyone else needs some type of quality roster around them.


This obsession with the qb position is what makes teams stay in the bottom of the league. The smart ones build rosters and magically the qb appears e.g Brady. It took him about 6 years to get to the level he is now. He is leaps and bounds better now than when he won Super Bowls.


If we focus on building a team I can almost guarantee the next qb we draft will look like the savior fog the franchise.
