The league has changed. You need talent at WR now to make defenses respect the whole playbook, having multiple WR4 or WR3 at best players doesn't really move the needle much. You don't even need a Chase or a Jefferson type; even a Kirk, Lockett or Marvin Jones (Detroit not Jacksonville) can be enough to elevate an offense and open things up.

Of course, but to say a bunch of guys drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds aren't talented isn't true. They were drafted that high for a reason and talent is at the top of it.

You bring up Kirk, Lockett and Marvin, but most people think those guys are overpaid and average as well. If they aren't a star, they're a nobody in most people's eyes. Which is the same case here when talking about Mac's receivers with the Pats.

A good QB makes his receivers better and that's the fact of the matter.
