It's back! This Week in the AFC South returns for its 11th season...get those crystal balls warmed up!
All credit to our good friend Bullseye for making this the tradition that it is and the great folks who keep the show running in his absence. For those new to TWITAFCS, here's the rundown:
- Previews should be posted at least 2-3 days before the first AFC South game of the week;
- Pick who you think will win each game (outright, no dealing with spreads, fantasy points, or other gambling mumbo jumbo), feel free to embellish with scores, predictions, or just dumping on garbage teams like the 'tacks.
- You can change picks up till kickoff. You can't change a pick because A. A. Ron blows an Achilles on the fourth play.
- After the games, feel free to share your results. We promise not to laugh at you for picking the tacks to win.
- If previews aren't posted yet for a week, feel free to start one! Nobody here (Bullseye included) claims ownership of TWITAFCS.
- Have fun! There's no trophies involved, we're all here to dump on the tacks have a good time.
As promised, I will try to keep a sheet to track picks or results so we have an easier way of tracking week to week. Stay tuned for details.
Can you believe the 2024 season is nearly upon us!?!? Let's get things started:
HOU @ IND: Last year, Richardson started out against a division rival, and was banged up before the final gun. Will it be different this year? The tinhorns have become the cool pick among the media, do they meet the hype, or does it go to their head?
TN @ CHI: Speaking of media hype, Caleb Williams comes into this game shouldering some exceptional expectations. How does he handle his first game? The tacks have been spending like they got money on fire, and look to be a completely new team compared to last season. Does this equal different results?
JAX @ MIA: In contrast to the tacks, Duval spent a ton this offseason too, but retained most of their key pieces. Did the few additions they made equal a stronger team? Miami always starts out fast, do they come out on fire, or take a while to warm up? This looks to be the matchup of the week.
We're all starting with clean slates at 0-0. Here's my picks for the week:
tinhorns 30 indynoplace(H) 20: Stroud and co. are too much for indy.
BURRS 17 tacks 16: This will be close, but it will also be ugly. Couldn't take the tacks based on the intro, even if it means a potential loss in the standings.
Duval 27 PHINS 21: Wishing it into existence. If we win the turnover battle and eat up TOP we gotta chance.
Happy picking, folks!
