I came across an article in the NY Times, that argued for restoring the right to vote for convicted felons in Tennessee.  Because of racial disparities or something.  I was really neutral on whether convicted felons should vote or not, but what amazed me was that nine percent of the voting age population in Tennessee are convicted felons!  So I googled, what percentage of the US population are convicted felons, and I found out that there are 24 million convicted felons in the United States.  That is very surprising to me. 

24 million convicted felons would represent a powerful interest group, that might be interested in weakening our laws or some other thing that would be to their advantage.  


So now I'm thinking, convicted felons should not be allowed to vote.  Because law abiding citizens should vote for representatives that would protect them from being the victim of a felony.  Or something.  Don't let convicted felons vote.  There are too many of them.
