I really don't remember people being so over the top in their reactions to a single week of football. We've always had the knee jerkers, but it just seems like people are outright hysterical this year.

Should be fairly obvious as to why that is though. 8 - 3 start last year, followed by just 1 win in the second half of the season against the worst franchise in the NFL at the moment. A lot of talk from ownership, a lot of contract extensions handed out to cornerstone pieces to this franchise. The offense then proceeds to tease the entire [BLEEP] fanbase for three quarters only to allow ONE fumble to derail their promising start. 

It's extremely frustrating. To see the same habitual patterns and errors occurring with this football team. ESPECIALLY on offense, where, again, that's supposed to be the strongest unit on this roster by now, going into year three, it's the same head coach, it's the same offensive coordinator and it's the same core four players in Lawrence, Kirk, Engram and Etienne. 

They should be better by now. They should be humming along. They should be executing better in crucial situations where situational awareness needs to be revved up. This division is also a lot more competitive now with a surging tinhorns team behind Stroud, who, whether we like it or not, got off to a better career start in the QB discussion, and, who knows, maybe Anthony Richardson starts to develop into the same pain in the [BLEEP] to deal with every week as well.

Sense of urgency is amplified for a lot of folks this year. The sheer amount of panic that radiated off my TV after ETN's fumble and that TD pass to Hill is still seeped into my skin now. I knew the moment he coughed that football up that the game was over. That's how common that kind of habit has become for this team since last year. They have to shake the cobwebs off. 

Get it right this Sunday against the Browns, and I am sure a wave of cool air and calmness will wash over the fanbase and media for at least a week. If they get their [BLEEP] kicked in Buffalo by the Bills on Monday, that's fine. Just don't go up there 0 - 2. Because, mathematically, teams that start off 0 - 2 or 0 - 3 are doomed by all historical accounts in this sport.
