Positives and Concerns in a loss vs Miami

Fanbases poking fun at their own team, that they paid for by the way, is no different than when the paper bag's came out for those teams that failed miserably over the years with the Lions, Bengals, Browns and Saints.

While I appreciate whatever it is that Doug is attempting to do. He also comes off as a bit of a smug [BLEEP] that was noticeably criticizing everybody else in his press conference yesterday. Including Nielsen who bailed him out after a 4th down gamble failed on our side of the field and the Quarterback that he limited to just 21 pass attempts in a game where he actually looked promising earlier on as a passer.

I don't know. At this point, Press Taylor is either his boy wonder [BLEEP] buddy during the off season or he's just not going to allow what happened to him in Philadelphia play out down here in Jacksonville. Again, I do not care about the method in which he conducts himself, his staff and his roster. The method is fine. Provided that said method leads to wins and not madness.

Right now, we don't know what to expect in year three because year one was a +1 with the tides turning at the right time in his favor, and, last year was a -1 with the tides washing away any little bit of hope as his team kept getting thrown out onto the rocks with personnel issues.

So, it's a wash for me as far as this season goes, and, again, it's really early. I get that. But, man, if they lose to Cleveland on Sunday, and have to go up to Buffalo with an 0 - 2 record on Monday Night Football? I feel for him and this roster and the fanbase. Just for perspective sake. Alright? Since 1966, and I read this from an article written just last year. There's only been six teams in NFL history since 1966 to start the season 0 -  3 and then proceed to make the post season and even when they did the make the post season I don't think of any them advanced past the wildcard round.

So, while there's some hope, even after an 0 - 3 start, it's very, very minimal at that. It can quickly spiral out of control. To make matters worse. Depending on what Houston looks like over the next two weeks? They could be 3 - 0 rolling into Jacksonville looking at us at 0 - 3. [BLEEP].

Is there really a mystery though?  To me, I'm 99% sure Press is calling some of the plays.  Probably most of the plays, but that part we don't know.  The buck stops with Pederson and that's really what he's saying by not naming a play caller.  Go after him.  He's either calling the "bad play calls" or allowing them to be called by not stepping in when the call goes in from Press.

Also, the timing and impact of particular plays is a lot more important than the overall contribution.  Holding the phins to 20 is a nice win overall for the defense, but the statement alone lacks context and falls into the "box score watcher only" category.  Letting Tyreek loose for an 80 yard TD or whatever it was the moment after the fumble is a catastrophic failure on defense that contributed significantly to the loss.  Whoever was responsible for that, be it player or play caller, deserves criticism.

Based on how they keep answering the media or ducking it directly? Yeah, I would say it's a bit of a mystery. And, again. I don't really care. As long as they're winning football games. I agree, to an extent, about the sequence of events post ETN's fumble. I just responded about that. I also put that on the coaches for not figuring out a way there to rein everybody in and get everybody back on track.

The defense gave up a big play, the lead was still 17 - 14. The offense had some opportunities to respond more than once offensively, again, that's supposed to be your strongest unit on the team, your coaches expertise, and, they didn't get it done. So, that's how I ultimately view it.
