Monday Night: Buffalo vs Miami
|
I watched a news clip about this and after his last concussion he decided to continue his career so his son could watch him play. I have no idea how old his son is but I'm sure the kid (and Tua's wife and family) would rather have a healthy father than one who's brain injuries render him unable to live a normal life. Tua needs to decide which of those is more important. To continue to play football after this is just being plain selfish.
There are a lot of kids and spouses of our Armed Forces whose parents/spouses suffered repeated concussions/TBIs during deployments and they had no choice to leave their job to preserve their health until the damage had been done. Tua is in an position of privilege to not only preserve his health but to set an example for other athletes by recognizing when it's time to reset priorities . |
