They aren't running on project 2025 which sets out to remove many of the checks and balances that are the building blocks of our democracy and replace them with executive control. Many see this as a direct shift to a dictatorship. 

If these attempts are real, and they probably are, it is likely this ^ that is driving it. 

Trump is the most divisive figure in politics, I don't see any mystery here. There are some folks out there who are crazy enough to think they are doing our country a service by taking a shot at him. Not the first time, won't be the last time a candidate went through this.

How many times does Trump have to say p2025 isn’t his before you actually believe him?
