We decided to run a Double Move on our own 2 YL with no support for Myles Garret?

And here we are, week 2, and the deep shots are there but the OL trash cans can’t do their job.

Exactly.

Last season Doug and Press got beat up in pressers with pundits asking why we weren't throwing downfield and running more play action. (fair questions as average depth of target was minuscule - but the protection issues should have been an obvious answer)

Now those exact same guys are begging for more quick release passing in their twitter feeds.

It's kind-of funny, kind-of sad. Anyway - I hope they figure out how to make more of the deep shots work despite the protection issues. Or just improve the protection somehow.

And - yes - they don't need to happen from our own end zone, LOL. But I still like the play.

Why wasn't the other WRs unstoppable then?  It has proved true even rolling over to the regular season. He burned Ramsey a few times week 1 in the first half and we should have continued to target him in the 2nd half.  And Shipley and Harvey didn't say he looked unstoppable just because we couldn't sack the QB.  We had oline issues but that didn't take away from the fact he was owning their DBs just like he has been so far in the regular season.  "They" didn't look unstable, just BTJ did.  Even the Bucs staff and players were praising him

In the practices referenced they were. Engram, Kirk and Davis all hauled in deep shots.
I'm sure we'll see them do it again when/if the protection ever levels up against the lesser pass rushing teams.
