no, you can't plan for it, unless they tend to do it in the biggest moments of the game, which they tend to do.

I'm telling you, these guys are like the awkward teenage boy in the presence of their crush whenever the pressure is on. They forget how to do everything and end up wetting their pants.

Given our history, the smart play (run up the gut to buy some space) ends up a loss or no gain anyway (see above), but something has to be figured out why these guys cower in the face of pivotal moments in a game.
