Why? 

It's a federal investigation. The FBI links with state and local authorities through a protocol long in place. 

The state police can't just show up at a federal crime scene and start their own investigation. Doesn't work that way.
That's just DeSantis clowning for the camera as usual. Zero substance, all political theater with that one.
