Much like what happened with David Garrard. They had a reliable solution to their QB position for very, very cheap, and, instead of taking advantage of that and building around that they opted to take the easiest out for regime change sake. 

Here's the thing, had Khan made the right hire from the beginning back when they drafted Lawrence? Maybe there's a good chance that coaching staff doesn't start him right away. They actually give Minshew 10 - 12 weeks to build up his trade value before starting Lawrence.

Or, maybe Minshew wins enough under that new coaching staff, to where, you can go the Green Bay Packers route and sit Lawrence for another year or two. It would have done him some good. He was young enough to merit that path when he left Clemson.

I mean they had Urban Meyer in charge. I'm sure Baalke has some blood on his hands for all that fiasco, but most of that blame goes to Mr. lap dance.

On a more serious note, I agree that rushing Lawrence out there and trading Minshew was short sighted and probably influenced by all the media hype of "generational prospect."
