This is where we've spent a lot of time over the years. Glad to finally see footage but it's also sad. As for the original question as to will this affect the election. After thinking about it for a couple of days I say no, it won't. And after seeing more footage of other areas and knowing the kinds of folks who live in these smalls towns I can say with a degree of certainty that the election is far from their minds right now. Their number one concern is survival, helping others if they are able, and how and when basic utilities will be restored. 

To make this political is insulting. Regardless of who they (or we) vote for they are currently all in the same situation and right now everyone should be thinking about and doing something to help them through this.
