Day 14 and my friend in Little Switzerland (just up the mountain from Spruce Pine) is still without power, water, landline and has spotty cell service. Someone donated generators to her church and she was given one yesterday. She's hoping to hook it up to her well long enough to clean her house, then use it for other purposes.

Her mom Linda had been staying with her over the summer and was making final plans to go back home to FL for the winter when Milton showed up so she decided to stay in NC. Her house is in Siesta Key which is just south of Tampa Bay if I understood her correctly. So regardless of where she is she is without utilities but I guarantee you Siesta Key will get them restored before Little Switzerland. Poor lady. 

Folks everywhere are going through tough times but especially in FL, WNC and E Tennessee. Let's remember to be kind to one another. Just because we're not in the thick of it in these areas doesn't mean people we know and love aren't.
