Poll: Which of the following best describes your outlook on Travon Walker ? This poll is closed. |

He's not an edge rusher. Put 20 pounds on him and move him inside. | 10 | 8.33%
Still has work to do as a pass rusher but I see improvement. Let's see how it goes. Inside stunts are enough to get him matched against guards. | 37 | 30.83%
He's going to be a beast. I trust the process. | 31 | 25.83%
Bust | 27 | 22.50% | |
I wish we'd just switch to a 4-3, leave him outside and put his hand in the ground. | 8 | 6.67%

Travon Walker: 2nd Year Thoughts Etc (merged)

(10-11-2024, 03:15 PM)Jaguarmeister Wrote: Ben Solak of ESPN thinks it would be a win/win for the Jags to trade Travon to the loins for a couple of 4th rounders. @JaguarsOnSI apparently can't get the title of the article right as there is no mention of the Jags trading for any lions player that I can find. Fails all around. Ben's take and the writer of this follow up article on @JaguarsOnSI are so bad that they have to be AI created. Such a dumb idea. Not sure what the obsession is over this Hutchinson Vs. Walker argument. Hutchinson is the better pass rusher, for now. Walker still has a high ceiling and can continue to develop. There's nothing going on with him right now to suggest otherwise. I personally think he's out played Josh Hines-Allen since the half way point of last year and going into this year. If anybody is trade bait, it's Hines-Allen in my opinion. Due to his contract and age alone. You don't trade a guy that will be 24 years old this year towards the final stretch of the season where he's in year three with his 2nd defensive coach and new installment. Just looking at his numbers. He's already on pace to outshine what he's done as a rookie and from last year. Rookie year - He had 3.5 sacks, 49 combined tackles, 24 solo, 25 assist's and 5 TFL's with 10 QB hits. Last year - He had 10.0 sacks, 52 combined tackles, 27 solo, 25 assist's, 10 TFL's with 19 QB hits. So far, this year, in just 5 games - He has 5.0 sacks, 18 combined tackles, 8 solo, 10 assist's, 5 TFL's with 7 QB hits. He's clearly showing you a natural progression as far as becoming a well rounded player and that's in spite of having to learn and adjust to two different coaches now and systems. I forgot my original predictions but I think he's on par for 12.0+ sacks this year, AND, it wouldn't shock me one bit, NOT ONE BIT... if he comes back from across the pond with 10.0 total sacks on the year after these two games. 2.5 sacks against Caleb Williams and 2.5 sacks against Drake Maye are very, very doable for Walker against these offenses. Chicago really doesn't have much of a running game and New England really ONLY has somewhat of a running game and they can't really throw themselves out of a hole to save their lives. These two games should be feasting time in October for not only Walker, but, also Hines-Allen, Armstead, Smith and Co. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."
