So here's a silly idea.

Late in the game, there was a short throw, hit a defender in the back. Bad, yes, I know.

But why in the heck aren't we getting our WR in the mindset to slow/stop your route, get completely bowled over by the pursuing DB and take the free yards via flag? That defender had zero clue where the ball was, and if the WR tries to come back to the ball it's the easiest yards we get all game.  You see so many other teams take advantage of that kind of mental lapse on D, but our guys just dejectedly sigh and return to the huddle.

Am I expecting too much?

He put so many balls right on his guys, they were just not on their game. And for some, that's their everyday state of being. It's tiring. I'm sure Trevor is equally frustrated when he's on the mark and the other guys are showing off hands of granite.

I thought the same thing at the time.  He made no attempt to come back for the ball and would have likely drawn a penalty on the defender had he done so.  He's a rookie though and a very good one at that.  Perhaps that type of move comes with more experience.

Nielsen has proven him to be a liar in this regard. Baalke's spending on that side of the football along with the top heavy draft investments over there have also done him no favors. The inconsistencies also continue to show up for this offense. 

One week the pass protection is there, and it enables Lawrence to get into a confidence trick with his pocket awareness, and then the next, it's a little rough. Today there was also no run game. Which exposed a lot of issues on offense. It also does him no favors when people are dropping touchdown passes or putting the football on the ground after a big play. 

This team is poorly coached, and, again, the fact that Cisco outright said guys "Quit" today? That's a death sentence for Pederson in my opinion. Not a matter of if anymore. It's when. Cisco just told on you. Cisco just said the quiet part out loud. Cisco just basically validated what that "amateur" journalist said a few weeks ago about him losing the locker room. 

There's a mole or two in the locker room. It's a leauge filled with young guys that grew up on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Tiktok. They all love to spill the tea amongst themselves. They can't help it.

Kinda wonder if Cisco calling them out is the kick in the pants some of the guys need that the coaches should be doing, but aren't.

I read the quote before I watched the game, and I didn't see a lot of quit out there, although I wondered if this was a jab at Darby for his two straight holding calls, Lloyd for 'walking' after Kmet on his first TD?

I've been saying for a while that this team needs some angry. I don't think Doug or Tlaw are the kind that are gonna get onto you like a drill sergeant from Hades, but some of these guys probably need that angry chip on their should to get them motivated and out of their comfort zone.

I thought the same thing after watching/hearing his comments and giving it some thought.  I believe it wasn't directed at the entire defense, but at the secondary and perhaps the linebackers in coverage like Lloyd.  If Cisco is focusing on his responsibilities every play, not sure how he would see "quit" or "not playing as one" in the D-line is my point.
