And..when do we determine that we’re course ready/are there courses that are beginner friendly when that time comes?

You don’t know what you’re missing out on. I keep my mashie and niblick well polished. Although my brassie could use a good rub down.

Now, about golf, listen to what Sneakers says and take a lesson or two. I wish I had. It would’ve saved me years of frustration. Learn the proper techniques before you ingrain bad habits. If you want to be at least somewhat serious about the game, that’s the way to go. You’ll get so much more enjoyment from it.
