And it's not as if Manning came into the league having accomplished nothing and started with the commercials. He proved himself first.

 

I've never understood why people try to connect business and art. 

 

Manziel can have his business people doing all kinds of things - it doesn't change objective reality. He's going to be whatever type of football player he turns out to be. I guess some think that if someone would just bare down more they'd be that much better.

 

I just take all the off the field stuff as entertainment. Take it with a grain of salt. You can be a good businessman and parent at the same time, as an example. My opinion of Manziel will be based on what he does on the field, not whether he endorses the kind of burger I like.

 

I do kind of like the whole Johnny Football persona, though. Isn't all this supposed to be fun on some level?
