In 2020 the top 10 guys were making between 30-45 million (average annual)
In 2024 the top 10 guys are gonna make 45-60 million.
In 2028 the top 10 guys are gonna be making 55-70 million.

OK, when the money finally kicks in, HE WILL BE MAKING LESS THAN THE TOP 10!

2029, AND 2030 would be the only really big cap hits and the team has an out clause prior to that if he isn't performing to that standard.

The Jags have paid for the right to his services and a chance to mold him into top tier QB.
And if they manage to do that over the next couple of years, they'll have him locked down affordably for a while.
The whole thing seems terribly sensible to me - especially when you look around at all the teams in much more dire QB situations.
