But to trademark phrases about himself when he should be focused on transitioning to the pros makes people question how committed he is to the craft. He has so much more to lose than to gain at this point. The smart move would have been to sit on these til after the draft if they are vital to maintaining the self image.

I'll be the first one to say I don't like Manziel. He's not the guy I want us to draft but if we do I'll support. With that being said I hate when an athlete does something like this and people say "He should be focusing on getting better." So you think because he trademarked a phase he's not working hard to become better? So he's not committed to his craft because he took a whopping 5 secs to trademark a phase? He probably said to his agent hey trademark this and that was it. 

 

Like I said I'm no Manziel fan at all but I'm sick of hearing he's "not committed" cuz he does a commercial or a picture is taken of him at a party.
