Yeah, no hero ball, tell that kid as soon as you hear the thump off the punter's foot, you signal fair catch. Nothing deflates a D more than getting a stop and immediately getting called back to the (short) field.

Not sure what we do at the half/in the third to figure out how to move against a D, but maybe try that some time early in the second when the D is giving up a 6-minute, 10 play drive like we tend to do. Call it mini-half or whatever, but figger it oot and adapt.

But our "script" doesn't extend midway into the 3rd quarter every week.

Plus, when our offense "gets going", its usually when the opposing team goes into an umbrella/prevent defense - despite our success with the no huddle. But, I'll take what we can get on offense because there's not much that occurs the entire first half of games with that unit. I'm pretty sure we only mustered up 20-30 yards of TOTAL offense in the first half against the Eagles.

That simply can not happen.

By the third Q Barkley had both more yards rushing AND more yards receiving than our entire team's offensive production. I still don't understand how we didn't lose by 20.

You must forget how bad the offense is. There have been weeks where scripted plays last into the 2nd half.
