You are welcome to your opinion. That is our nation. A couple of things I also believe along these lines. All people in power are targets of those jealous of them and scammers.

 There is no guiltless or perfect person. If you want that to be the standard then no one would ever be nominated.  

The democrats lost this election, and by such a margin it shocked them. The Republicans got 45% of the presidential vote in New York, almost 40% in California the list goes on and on.

The Democrats having recovered from their election shock are now beginning to negotiate these appointments. They realize unlike the last time they are powerless to stop them once the new senate convenes.

No one in either party is defending the things you have listed. If you truly believe this all I can say is I am sorry you feel that way.
